The Vitara does not have an automatic belt tensioner attached to the tensioner pulley, which is why you have to manually adjust the pulley, however before you do that you have to make it give.

Paso 1:

Try to locate the tensioner pulley of your Grand Vitara in the forward area, on the engine block, the tensioner pulley is located between the crankshaft pulley and the power steering pump. The turnbuckle has a hex head bolt which runs through the center of the turnbuckle, and the turnbuckle has no attachments attached to it.

Paso 2:

Put a socket and ratchet on the bolt aiming to get it through the middle of the pulley.

Paso 3:
