How to Change Brake Pads on a Corsa

The steps you must follow to correctly replace the brake pads on your Corsa are as follows:

1. Open the hood to locate the brake master cylinder reservoir, where you can check the brake fluid levels. Remove about a third of the brake fluid from the reservoir with a clean turkey baster.

2. Loosen the wheel bolt with a ratchet wrench and socket.. Do not completely remove the wheel bolts.

3. Raise the front of the Corsa with a floor jack. Place a jack under the Corsa to support the vehicle securely.

4. Remove the wheels and tires from the Corsa. Place the bolts, wheels, and tire on the side of the vehicle.

5. Locate the upper and lower mounting bolts on the back of the brake caliper. Loosen and remove each of the caliper bolts with a ratchet and socket.

6. Pull the caliper from the brake assembly and secure it to the frame with mechanical wire.

8. Install the new inner and outer brake pads on the brake assembly.

9. Place an 8-inch C-clamp against the caliper to support the piston. The fixed part should touch the rear of the caliper body and the bolt section should touch the caliper piston. Tighten the 8-inch C-clamp.

10. Place the brake caliper on the brake assembly. Tighten the brake caliper mounting bolts.

11. Put the wheels and tires back on the Corsa. Hand tighten the wheel bolts.

12. Raise the floor jack slightly to remove it from under the Corsa.

13. Lower the Corsa to a flat, level surface.. Tighten the bolts with a torque wrench. Fill the brake master cylinder container.

14. Pump the brake pedal several times to firmly fix the pedal. Test drive your Corsa to see if it works properly.
