- Loosen the bolt at the top of the pulley with a socket wrench and remove the alternator and pulley from the vise. Continue by loosening the bolt that holds the pulley to the alternator.
2- Install the new alternator

- Remove the alternator pulley and screw the pulley to the new alternator. Then place it in the vise to ensure the pulley is tight on the alternator shaft.
- Locate the alternator on the brackets in the engine compartment. Put the belt on the pulley.
- Start screwing in the bottom and top bolts. Tighten the bottom bolt with the socket wrench.
- Put a lever between the alternator and the mounting bracket. Next, push the alternator toward the driver’s side of the Corolla to tighten the belt and tighten the top bolt on the alternator. When the strap is tight, there should be no gap in the strap.
- Start the Toyota Corolla to make sure the alternator is working properly. Check the belt and make sure it doesn’t loosen when it turns around the pulleys.
- Turn off the Corolla and let it sit for at least an hour.
- Finally restart the car within an hour to make sure the vehicle starts.
