- Place the brake caliper on the frame and secure it with a mechanical wire. Don’t let the caliper hang from the brake hose.
- Remove the brake pads and anti-vibration clips from the brake anchor plate. Remove the shims from the pad to reuse them. Note the exact order that the old brake pads, anti-vibration clamps, and shims were placed on the vehicle.
- Install the shims, anti-vibration clips and new brake pads on the anchor plate.
- Put the caliper back in position above the brake assembly. Torque the slide pin bolts to 24 foot-pounds.
- Replace the wheel and tire. He tightens the locknut with his fingers.
- Lower the Clio to level ground. Tighten the locknut to 80 to 100 foot-pounds with a torque wrench.
- Proceed to step on the brake pedal until it feels firm. The pedal may hit the ground the first time, but keep pressing the pedal until it is in place. Relocate new brake fluid to the master cylinder reservoir.

- Put new shoes on the rear wheel disc brake adapter.
- Put the caliper in place on the brake assembly.
- Replace the Clio’s wheels, tires, and lugs. Lower the vehicle to the ground. Step on the brake pedal several times until it feels firm. Refill the master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid to test drive the Clio and make sure the brakes work.
